2. How to use Pen, Direct Selection, Anchor Point, Rotate and more Tools in Illustrator (Video in Khmer)

Hello my friends! Today in this lesson, we learn about essential drawing and editing tools in Adobe Illustrator: Pen Tool, Direct Selection Tool, Shaper / Smooth Tools, and Rotate / Warp Tools.

I. Pen Tool & Direct Selection Tool (`V` vs `A`)

In Illustrator, we have 2 main selection arrows:

Selection Tool (V): Move whole object or resize entire shape.
Direct Selection Tool (A): Click and pick only 1 anchor point to move or bend single line!

👉 Quick Tips for Selection & Anchor Points:

Press A key: Click on 1 anchor point to drag just that point.
Double click anchor point: Convert curve point to sharp corner point or curve back.
Press Shift + click: Select multiple anchor points at same time!

II. Shaper, Pencil, Smooth & Path Eraser Tools

These tools help for fast freehand drawing and clean up rough vector lines:

Shaper Tool (Shift + N): Draw quick rough circle or square, Illustrator auto change to perfect math shape!
Pencil Tool (N): Draw freehand vector path like real pencil.
Smooth Tool: Drag over rough anchor point line to make curve soft and smooth.
Path Eraser Tool: Drag over line to erase path line without deleting whole object.

👉 Quick Tips for Drawing & Smoothing:

Double click Pencil Tool: Change "Fidelity" slider to "Smooth" so your hand jitter automatically fixed.
Hold Alt while using Pencil: Quickly switch to Smooth Tool to fix line!

III. Rotate, Warp, Twirl, Pucker & Bloat Tools

Tools for transform, spin, and distort vector shapes:

Rotate Tool (R): Spin shape around center or custom anchor point.
Warp Tool (Shift + R): Push vector edge like clay finger push.
Twirl Tool: Spin line inside like spiral whirlpool.
Pucker Tool: Squeeze vector anchor points inside to center.
Bloat Tool: Inflate and expand vector shape outside like balloon!

👉 Quick Tips for Rotate & Distort:

Set Center Reference Point: Select shape, press R, then click anywhere on artboard to set custom spin center point!
Press Alt + click for Rotate: Opens Rotate option box to enter exact angle (e.g. 360 / 12 = 30° for flower petals).
Hold Alt + Shift when using Warp/Bloat: Drag mouse to change brush size big or small!
