Hello everyone! Today we learn how to add a Cisco switch and router in GNS3. The lessons are in Khmer, and you can practice safely in GNS3 on your computer.

Add Cisco devices to GNS3

GNS3 makes a virtual network on your computer. You can add routers and switches, connect them, and practice network commands.

Basic steps

  1. Open GNS3 and make a new project.
  2. Add your router and switch templates.
  3. Drag both devices into the project.
  4. Connect the devices with a link.
  5. Start the devices and open their consoles.

You need compatible device images to use a router or switch template. Use images you have permission to use.

Tips

  • Start with one router and one switch.
  • Check your computer has enough memory and free disk space.
  • Save your project often.
  • If a link does not work, check one connection at a time.
  • Use a small lab before you build a large network.
