08 - Windows Server 2012 Set Working Hour for Client Computer (Video in Khmer)

Hello my friend! Today I show you step-by-step how to Set Working Hours for Domain User Account on Windows Server 2012 R2 inside VMware! This feature is super useful for company to control when employee can log in to domain client PC (example: allow login from 8 AM to 5 PM only). Very easy to follow with video tutorial in Khmer! Let's get started!

💡 Tip: In video tutorial, I set logon hours for user sok.sao from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM only! If user try to log in at night time or weekend, Windows will block login immediately!

Step 1: Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC)

1. Open Server Manager > click Tools menu at top right > select Active Directory Users and Computers (dsa.msc).
2. Navigate to your OU folder and select your domain user account (example: sok.sao inside Sales OU).

Step 2: Configure Logon Hours Restriction

1. Right-click domain user account > select Properties.
2. Click Account tab at top menu bar.
3. Click Logon Hours... button.
4. Look at time grid table:
   • Blue color grid: Logon Permitted (user can login).
   • White color grid: Logon Denied (user blocked).
5. Highlight time blocks outside working time (example: Monday to Friday from 5 PM to 8 AM, and full day Saturday & Sunday).
6. Click Logon Denied radio button to change selected time blocks from blue to white.
7. Click OK > click Apply > click OK.

💡 Tip: By default, Windows allows 24/7 Logon Permitted for all new domain users. It is faster to select non-working time blocks (like 5 PM to 8 AM and weekends) and click Logon Denied!

💡 Tip: If user is already logged in when working hour ends, Windows will not force disconnect user unless you enable Group Policy "Network security: Force logoff when logon hours expire"!
